How to Use

1. Select the hydrometer whose range covers the expected specific gravity of the sample.
2. Fill a suitable hydrometer cylinder with the liquid sample.
3. Carefully lower the hydrometer into the liquid.
4. Allow it to float freely without touching the sides or bottom of the cylinder.
5. Allow the hydrometer to stabilize.
6. Read the specific gravity at the appropriate liquid meniscus according to the applicable reading procedure.
7. The hydrometer is calibrated for 20°C; temperature correction should be considered when the sample temperature differs significantly from the calibration temperature.

Important Selection Guide

For liquids below water density:
Choose Cat. 17021–17024, covering 0.600–1.000.

For liquids around water density:
Choose Cat. 17025, covering 1.000–1.100.

For higher-density liquids:
Choose Cat. 17026–17034, covering 1.100–2.000.

For best readability and measurement resolution, select the hydrometer with the narrowest range that contains the expected specific gravity.
