Measurement Range

The LX-104 provides four Lux ranges:

  • 400 Lux
  • 4,000 Lux
  • 40,000 Lux
  • 400,000 Lux

It can also display measurements in Foot-candles. 1 FC ≈ 10.76 Lux, while 1 kLux = 1,000 Lux.

Data Logging

One of the main advantages of the LX-104 over a basic lux meter is its data-logging capability. Measurements can be recorded over time and subsequently transferred to a computer through the USB interface.

The instrument provides 99-value internal memory, while its data-logger function can record more than 16,000 measurements. The sampling interval for logging can be configured according to the application.

Peak Hold & MAX/MIN

The Peak Hold function allows the instrument to capture short-duration peak light signals. HTC specifies that the peak function can trace light pulses with durations as short as approximately 10 µs.

The MAX/MIN function allows users to monitor the highest and lowest measured illuminance values.

USB & PC Connectivity

The LX-104 includes a USB computer interface for transferring logged measurements to a PC. Software is supplied for data analysis, allowing recorded measurements to be reviewed and processed.

Applications

The LX-104 can be used for checking and documenting lighting conditions in:

  • Offices
  • Schools and classrooms
  • Laboratories
  • Factories
  • Warehouses
  • Hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Commercial buildings
  • Photography and studio environments
  • Indoor lighting installations
  • Industrial inspection
  • Building maintenance
  • General illumination surveys

It is particularly useful where light levels need to be measured repeatedly or recorded over an extended period, rather than simply taking a single reading.

Standard Accessories

The standard package is typically supplied with:

  • HTC LX-104 meter
  • External photo detector
  • USB cable
  • PC software
  • Soft carrying case
  • Instruction manual
  • 9V battery

Product Advantages

HTC LX-104 combines a very wide 400,000 Lux measurement range with data logging, USB connectivity, peak detection, MAX/MIN measurements and a large backlit display. Its external sensor makes it convenient to position the detector at the measurement point while viewing the reading on the main instrument.
