Note: Brix readings are calibrated to sucrose solutions. For vegetable oils and other non-sucrose samples, the reading may not represent actual sugar content; use an appropriate validated method for interpretation.

How to use

1. Clean and dry the refractometer prism.

2. Place a few drops of the prepared liquid sample on the prism.

3. Close the daylight plate gently, ensuring the sample covers the measuring surface.

4. Point the instrument toward a suitable light source and look through the eyepiece.

5. Read the boundary between the light and dark regions on the Brix scale.

6. Clean the prism after measurement and store the instrument safely.

For reliable results, calibrate using distilled water or an appropriate reference according to the manufacturer's instructions, and allow samples to reach the recommended measurement temperature.
