Applications
Suitable for COD testing of:
- Drinking water
- Mineral water
- Well water
- Swimming pool water
- Surface water
- Groundwater
- Aquaculture water
- Boiler water
- Process water
- Industrial wastewater
- Effluent water
- Cooling-system water

Method / Working Principle
The sample is oxidized using a hot sulfuric-acid solution containing potassium dichromate, with silver sulfate as catalyst. Chloride interference is masked using mercury sulfate. After digestion, the remaining dichromate is determined photometrically and the result is expressed as mg/L COD as O₂.
Pack Contents
- 25 × APCODV2 COD reagent vials
- Plastic syringe, 1 mL – 5 Nos.
- Procedure label – 1 No.
Basic Testing Procedure
- Take one vial and add 2 mL COD-free demineralized water to prepare the blank.
- Take another vial and add 2 mL sample.
- Close both vials tightly and swirl for 10–15 seconds.
- Digest at 150°C for 2 hours using a suitable COD digester.
- Cool naturally to room temperature for approximately 15–20 minutes.
- Read the COD value using a compatible COD meter/analyzer.
Storage
Keep the reagent vials closed and stored at ambient temperature, following the storage conditions specified on the product packaging. The manufacturer's data sheet states stability up to the date indicated on the pack under the specified storage conditions.
